Here are some pics of another successful event that took place last Thursday at the Riverwest Public House. Special thanks to Dan Van Rite of Hinterland, Justin Aprahamian from Sanford, Mitchell Ciohon of Sabor, and Ryan Oschmann from The Eatery for donating the soup and bread. And, an even bigger thanks to Kris Collett for organizing the whole thing.

On Saturday, December 10, FoodFightMKE participated in the #MKEfoodies Holiday Bake Sale benefitting Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. It was a great opportunity to support one of our partners. We hosted a cookie decorating station and offered cookies in exchange for a $1 donation to the cause. The decorating station was definitely a hit, and brought out the creativity in kids and adults alike.
We’d like to thank everyone who stopped by our station and showed us your awesome cookie decorating skills and a big thank you to #MKEfoodies for your continued support!

On Friday, December 9th, FoodFightMKE hosted a fund-raising event at AJ Bombers. All guests received a chance to win from an assortment of door prizes, and the proceeds of our featured drink, “The Hunger Hammer”, went to benefit Hunger Task Force as we beat hunger for the night. By the end of the night FoodFightMKE raised enough money to feed over 30 families. Images from FoodFightMKE Night can be seen above.
We’d like to thank everyone that made it out Friday night to help us fight hunger in Milwaukee, and a huge thanks to the amazing local businesses that donated raffle prizes!

On Thanksgiving, OnMilwaukee.com featured an article about FoodFightMKE. It talks briefly about what we are doing to help beat hunger in Milwaukee. Check out the link here. We would like to thank them for the kind words and helping to spread the word about how easy it really is to help beat hunger. “All it takes is five minutes, $10 and a quick text from your cell phone.”
We’re also super thankful to Hunger Task Force for doing what they do and for their partnership. They said in the article: “Hunger Task Force loves the spirit of community involvement and cutting-edge humor demonstrated by the students of FoodFightMKE,” says Sherrie Tussler, executive director of Hunger Task Force. “Their stuff is genius and carries our message to a crowd of next generation people who can help us end hunger in our city.”
And THAT is why we are here. Join us in this movement.

On Friday, November 11th FOODFIGHTMKE had a sponsorship of the first mens’ Marquette University home basketball game at the Bradley Center. Through our sponsorship, we were permitted to show a short video on the Jumbotron to spread awareness and give spectators a chance to donate to the Hunger Task Force. (That video is at the top of this home page.) And we had a great time at the game talking to people about beating hunger, as you can see in these photos.
A HUGE thank you to Marquette athletics and the Bradley Center for their efforts in helping us spread the word and beat hunger in Milwaukee. Together, we raised over $500 in text donations, and they were a major factor in making that happen. And thanks again to all who donated.
